Category: 07) The Lifewriting Of Dataselves

New media and new technologies shape our sense of selfhood and identity by shaping the way we represent ourselves to others. In life writing on the Web, the theme of data and databases has emerged as a key element in self-representations by new media artists and authors. This chapter offers a careful reading of several new media works that use databases in creating a self-representation, with the aim of advancing our understanding of the intersections of identity and technology.
